Uncorked Creations is an art studio in downtown Binghamton that encourages painters of all levels to bring a bottle of wine and snacks to munch on while painting! It is a relatively new establishment in the area (unless I’ve been living under a rock) and it’s great to see a local business doing so well.
You can sign up for a class or reserve the cute loft for a private party or event. The studio can accommodate 25-30 participants per session. The classes are reasonably priced ($35 per person) and lasts 2-4 hours depending on the painting. The best part: you take home your very own piece of artwork!
Painting has never been a talent of mine, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was very relieved to see that everyone is given a canvas that has an outline of the painting.
The instructor then provides easy to follow, step-by-step instructions. For the snowman below, for example, the instructor showed us how to paint the background first (she also began with a canvas with an outline) and once everyone finished the background, we painted the scarf.
I’ve been to Uncorked Creations three times so far and I’ve loved every single painting I’ve brought home! It’s cool to see a group of people paint the same thing, but each painting ends up being different due to personal creativity. That’s what I love about art.
Mike and I even signed up for a date night session! It was Mike’s first time taking a class and we had a lot of fun! He painted the wine bottle while I painted the wine glass.
The paintings, except for the snowman (since it is spring), are now hanging in our living room!
